Every Wish Matters

I thought it would be great to end this week by sharing the “Wishing Tree” video that opened both our June 9^th Gala and June 11^th Dedication Ceremonies for the new hospital.

The video is based on the “Wishing Tree” poem written especially for us and the “Columbus Wishing Tree Project” by local poet Maggie Smith who is also a 2011 recipient of a Creative Writing Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.  In this very special message Maggie captures the essence of why we do what we do.

That’s Maggie in the video reading to children in the story-telling garden located in front of the new hospital.  For Maggie, this poem is also a personal one as she experienced the hospital herself as a child and now as a parent.  We think she did an amazing job and I know you’ll agree.
